Ring make-and-take with local artist
We'll get comfortable in our studio barn/workshop area, where you'll grab a glass of homemade wine from our organic orchard, wildcrafted herbal tea, and/or fruit-infused spring water from our bar before we get started. Once everyone is settled with a beverage, I'll do a quick demonstration to show you the techniques and procedures for making several different styles of rings. Then you'll get busy working hands-on with different tools and materials to create your own custom, unique ring exactly to your liking. I can provide as much support as necessary to help you to feel comfortable with the process and to create your desired outcome. We'll seal/finish your ring if necessary and you'll take it home with you at the end of the session. For those who are interested, you will also have an opportunity to tour our urban homestead and be immersed in the many endeavors we have going. Other things to note: -We have free-range chickens and 2 outdoor farm cats. All are friendly. :) -If you aren't seeing the date or time you'd like available on the calendar, feel free to send me a message and we'll try to work something out if possible! -In order to maintain the very intimate nature of this experience and the value for all guests, we typically do not allow non-participating onlookers. Hoodoo, Voodoo and a Bottle of Rum
A short walk through Congo Square culminating in a talk at my studio in the Treme neighborhood about Hoodoo, Voodoo, Black Carnival Traditions, the deeds and misdeeds of my own Louisiana Creole ancestors and other lesser known aspects of New Orleans history and culture. In my studio rum bar you will enjoy a shot of rum and a chance to check out my art and black masking Indian attire. My house has long been a place where friends come to ground themselves in the cultural vibration of the city. I am so excited to now share this experience with you! GREAT FOR GROUPS AS WELL AS INDIVIDUAL TRAVELERS!! Other things to note: THIS IS NOT A TOUR. It’s not focused on site seeing but rather an EXPERIENCE that uses a few sites as a backdrop, so if you are looking for a site seeing tour this will not meet your expectations. With that said, while the majority of my presentation will be at my studio, we will also walk the equivalent of six blocks through the park and stand in one place for long periods. Please wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated because the heat can be oppressive, especially in the summer. BTW - NO PHOTOS of my studio or myself are allowed, thank U.
Frenchmen Street Live Music Pub Crawl
Get ready to PARTY!! This 3-hour private tour includes drinks, and will take you beyond Bourbon Street to the music clubs, and cocktail bars of Frenchmen Street, the live music capital of New Orleans. Frenchmen Street has been featured in many films and shows such as HBO's Treme, The Simpsons, and the hit movie Girl's Trip. Drake also shot a large portion of his video for 'In My Feelings' on Frenchmen Street. Do this experience your 1st night!! You'll have a local Jazz musician as your party guide. We will take you to hear the best live music at Frenchmen Street's hottest clubs. You'll hear New Orleans music history, ghost stories, and tales of musical New Orleans from 1718-until now. You’ll dance the night away and experience the Frenchmen Street scene. We'll definitely get to meet some new friends too! You will have access to VIP Sections at clubs and VIP DRINK SPECIALS. Spirits - The Cocktail And Ghost Crawl
I found my success as a guide, with a belief that the best tours are craft, even a bit of art. Let me help you connect with the great city of New Orleans, by sharing tales of old and examining its drinking legacy. We’ll walk cobbled alleys, and listen to ghost stories as classic as the libations you'll be sipping upon. I've created an evening of documented ghosts, city history, drinking yarns, and Voodoo. I'll tie it all together into a cohesive experience of chills, laughs, and must-have drink suggestions. This is still well-researched history, but made fun. Let me save you from the dull recitation of New Orleans' bullet points: I put on a show. Yet, there will be no capes, no blurry photos, and no vampire tales - fabricated to suck the blood from your wallet. I use stories that are historically sourced – which makes this tour far more frightening. By using actual stories, from the cultures that created this city, you will begin to unravel what makes New Orleans so special. This event is an alternative to the stock NOLA ghost tour or haunted pub crawl, you've been endlessly scrolling through. The tour is designed for the curious, people who wish to understand the places they visit and share drinks with fellow travelers. Don't confuse this with the party-crawls. This is a professional drinking event - a genuinely full tour. Drinks are extra & not required : Size 15

Sparkin’ Suz is offering “make and take” classes in metal fabrication where not only can you gain valuable experience welding, but also take a home creation of your own to prove to others you can indeed weld ;) Whether you’re just getting out of diapers or you’re just getting into them, whether you’ve been welding for years and want to get back in the groove or have never even seen a welder, whether it’s for therapy, fun, or to get some arc time gaining experience toward learning a skill you can make a career out of.. Everyone is welcome and will definitely feel those sparks fly! ;) Well, not exactly feel them as I will have all necessary protective gear to keep you safe. One person, two person, and group sessions available! We’ll start the class by going over some safety. Play with Clay in a Fanciful Studio
I will give you a tour of Clay Squared which is a working studio in two types of clay- Ceramic and Polymer clay. You'll be surrounded by my sculptures and my husband's tiles. Start the class by learning three magical layering techniques in polymer clay that even the non-artistic can pick up right away. Next you will get to explore my endless scrap pile to add to your own creations and make a finished piece which could be anything from a decorative frame to a light switch cover to a sugar bowl. I can bake your creation for you while we tour the studios more (20 minutes) or you can take it with you to bake yourself. I always create right a long side you. I will also share any info you are interested in about the North East Minneapolis Arts District which is home of over 400 studios. Other things to note: Everything you learn is step by step and Layl is all about positivity. Polymer clay is magical and very forgiving. We tend to run a closer to 2 hours than an hour and a half but let me know if you need to be done earlier and we can make it happen.
