My name is Johnny I'm Tanzanian i was born here in Kilimanjaro at Materuni village. I'm chagga by tribal. Materuni village is the last village before Kilimanjaro National park. Once you will visit my village you will register at the village office after that youre tour will begin is 45 minutes from the office to the waterfalls. On the way to the waterfalls you will see bananas and coffee plantations and learn more about my culture and the life of the villagers not only that but also to see Moshi town view point and spectacular view of mount kilimanjaro. After waterfalls you will get back and have short break while you waiting for coffee lesson and you will learn how coffee is processed picking, driying, pounding, roasting, grinding up to drink in local way. To begin the activity, we will meet at the departure location - Mount Meru hotel (pickups can be arranged from various locations at an extra cost). We will take a 20-30minute drive through the Sekei villages to our destination: Themi falls leisure park. After arriving, we will take care of formalities at the gate and begin our hike through the peaceful forests. The hike is medium paced, 30-40mins through the quietness of the well preserved Themi leisure park. We will arrive at our destination (Themi waterfalls) at around mid-afternoon. You will have lunch and drinks in a very eco-friendly manner. If you wish to go for a swim in the waterfall's natural swimming pool, please bring swimming gear. Typically we will spend as much time as you want at the waterfalls. When you've had enough of it, we will begin our walk back to the gate where you have a choice of either walking back for the active trekkers or taking a car. We will pick you up in Moshi town. Then we go together to the beautiful village Materuni by car or motorbike. From there we start our hiking tour to an amazing waterfall. On our way you will learn a lot about our culture and nature. When we arrive at the waterfall you have the chance to go in the water if you like. After spending some time at the waterfall we will start our way back to our camp (Materuni Homes). Our local hot lunch awaits you there.
